LaNono A. (Hahn) Mong, 93, of 10227 Five Forks Road, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 in Quincy Village Nursing Home. Born September 18, 1924 in Thurmont, MD, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Naomi (Ahalt) Hahn. Mrs. Mong was a graduate of Smithsburg, MD High School with the Class of 1943. She and her husband, the late Mr. Richard O. Mong, Sr., were married in November 1943 in Henderson, KY. They moved to the Five Forks area in 1946. Mr. Mong passed away November 14, 1984. Mrs. Mong was a homemaker and along with her husband, operated the family farm in Five Forks for over 30 years. She was a member of Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro, Franklin County Society of Farm Women Group 13, and enjoyed working the voting polls for many years.
Mrs. Mong is survived by three children, LaNono A. Carbaugh of Greencastle, PA, Pamela L. Mentzer of South Mountain, PA and Richard O. Mong, Jr. of Five Forks; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Stitely of Waynesboro and Yvonne Schliem of Beloit, WI; one brother, Jay W. Hahn of Ballwin, MO; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Verona Hurley and Omega Bloom.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro with Pastor Ray Kipe officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.There will be no public viewing, however, the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, 9244 Five Forks Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268 or SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
