The birth and death dates of Benjamin Robeson are approximate. In Deed Book 15 page 327 Sampson Co., NC Court Records a division of the Lands of Benjamin Robinson/Robeson dec'd was registered on 6 July 1812. This was in obedience of an order of Court February term 1809. The lots drawn are as follows:
Lot 1: drawn for Anne Devane (m. James Devane)
Lot 2: James Robinson (Betsey Fennell;Rebecca Johnson)
Lot 3: John Robinson/Robeson(d. 1813 & m. Zilpah Poitevint 6c

Posted on this site is a copy of a deed from Benjamin Robeson to James DeVane. It is registered in New Hanover Co., NC Courts Deed Bk. H pg. 331 written 24 Sept 1785 and registered 9 Mar 1786, It reads in part"... I, Benjamin Robeson, of the State of NC and County of New Hanover, for the love, good will and esteem which I bear unto my beloved Son-in-law James Devane of the county and state aforesaid...". This land was given so James Devane could erect a Saw Mill on a branch joining my own plantation on Black River known by the name of Robinsons Branch.
