Grants-Funeral services for James J. Allen, 81, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept 26, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Thoreau. . Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 27, 2017, at the Fort Sumner Community Cemetery in Fort Sumner.
Allen died Sept 21, 2017, in Grants. He was born Aug 16, 1936, in Fort Sumner.
Survivors include his sons James Allen, of Jamestown, Frank Allen, of Hobbs, and Miles Allen of Slidell, Louisiana, daughters Kathy Allen, of Clovis, Kim Weierman, of Red Lodge, Montana and Sunny Fischer of Gilbert, Arizona; sister Rosella Moore, of Thoreau; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Franklin Fred Allen and Allie Pauline Allen and one grandson.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Allen, Chris Brock, Andy Allen, Andy Sanchez, Kacie Mayberry and Kurt Warren.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
