Dennis Louis Reid, 69, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at Parkland Baptist Church, 921 Parkland Dr., Clovis, NM. Rev. Wayne Boydstun will officiate. A private burial will take place in the Lawn Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery in Clovis.
Dennis was born September 17, 1948, in Clovis NM, a son of SB and Willie Kemf Reid. He married Melba Parkinson Reid on October 25, 1974, in Clovis NM.
He is survived by his wife, Melba of Clovis; son, Gregg (Sandra) Reid of Clovis; son, Bryan (Laura) Reid of Clovis; grandson, Jerred (Jenni) Cogdill of Bushland TX; grandson, Travis Reid of Clovis; granddaughter, Tiffany (Joshua) Earle of California; grandson, Levi Reid of Amarillo; granddaughter, Hannah Reid of Clovis; great-granddaughter, Ariyah Earle; sister, Linda Reid of Albuquerque; niece, Kristin Pearce of Albuquerque; aunt and uncle Betty and Nolan Beevers. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dennis graduated from Las Cruces High School, received his BS degree at NM State, and his MA at SMU in Dallas TX. He was a banker for 15 years and at Farm Bureau Insurance Agency for 25 years. He was also a member of Central Baptist Church and a member of the Optimist Club.
His hobbies included antiques, traveling, hunting and fishing. He will sadly be missed by everyone.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Baptist Childrens Home in Portales.
