Roy Lee Asher, 73, of Kansas City, Kan., was born May 30, 1944. He died September 28. On July 16, 1966, he married Patricia. They were married for 51 years. Roy retired after 31 years at Associated Wholesale Grocers where he was a union steward. He was a Shriner and a member of Shawnee Boulevard Christian Church. Roy can best be remembered for his love of learning, conversation, and dedication to his family. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy Asher and Alameda Johnson; brothers Robert Asher and Mike Asher; half-brothers Samuel Conner and John Conner; and his step-son Thomas Amos. He is survived by his wife Patricia; sister Jacqui Mori; brother Chris Asher; half-sister Merle Conner; daughters Sherry Asher, Lisa Sulzen, and Lora Asher; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A visitation is planned from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at Maple Hill Funeral Home. A funeral service will directly follow.
