Published in last Friday's Sioux City Journal was an obituary of the daughter of early-day Akron residents, Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Tryon, relatives of pioneer local folks, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Tremainie, who will be remembered by some people here. The Journal article reads:
Miss Minnie Elizabeth Tryon, 82, died Thursday morning at a Harlan, Iowa nursing home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pauley Home for Funerals in Harlan. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Akron under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home of Akron.
Miss Tryon was born Nov. 24, 1882, at Akron. During her youth, she lived at Spencer, Iowa, later moving to Minneapolis, Oregon, North Carolina, and Florida, before moving back to Spencer in 1953. In 1955 she moved to Akron and in 1960, she moved to the nursing home at Harlan, She taught piano and in Oregon served as school clerk 18 years.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. C.P. Bull of St. Paul, Minn.; a brother, B.W. Tryon of Winnipeg, Man.
