Freda Mae Barnett, 85, of Evans, passed away September 27, 2017, in Ravenswood Village following an extended illness.

She was born September 10, 1932, in the Parchment Valley community, Ripley, the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Chloe (Stutler) Southall. Her husband, Parvin; son, Michael; grandson, Jeremy; and a brother, Clair Southall, also preceded her in death.

Freda was a former employee of Sylvania Electric, Moore's Market and was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Evans Community Initiative, a member of the Evans United Methodist Church and she enjoyed traveling and camping.

Survivors include her son and his wife, Eugene and Cathy Barnett of Evans; grandchildren, Josh and his wife Amber Barnett and Sara; great-grandchildren, Kaesyn and Khloie; and daughter-in-law, Melinda Barnett.

Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 1, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans. Burial will follow in the Given Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Sunday.
