Frank E. “Bud” Hayden, 84 of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette, IN.
Born on July 25, 1932 in Cass County, IN, he was the son of the late Frank and Pearl (Reid) Hayden. On November 7, 1957 in Wheeling, Indiana he married Linda L. Spitler who survives.
Frank retired from Logan Machine Company after 43 years. Frank was a United States Army Veteran serving his country during the Korean War. He was a member of Cross Wind United Methodist Church, and American Legion Post #60. Bud had a favorite saying “ There are no strangers, just friends he hadn’t met yet”.
Surviving along with his wife, Linda, is a daughter, Tonya (Jim) Reno, Logansport; three sons, Frank Lee Hayden, Jersey City, NJ; William Larry (Tammy) Hayden, TX; Douglas Lance Hayden and fiancé Carrie Jackson, Logansport, IN; adopted daughter, Angie Rechkemmer, Logansport, IN; sister, Virginia Conn, Logansport; brother, Larry Joe (Judy) Hayden, Cicero, IN; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Hayden; and two sisters, June Girton and Margaret Chapman.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Monday April 3, 2017 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Reno, his grandson, officiating. A burial will follow in the Shideler cemetery near Logansport.
Visitation hours will be from 1-5 PM Sunday April 2, 2017 in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmaus Mission Center.
