Ronnie K. Russell, 64, resident of the Dumas Community, died following a tragic accident Friday evening September 1, 2017 in Dumas.
A Gathering of family and friends to share memories of Ronnie will be at 3 PM Sunday October 1 at the State Line Cemetery near Walnut with burial to follow. Arrangements will be provided by The Ripley Funeral Home.
An Arkansas native, August 25, 1953 he was the son of the late Vardaman and Arah Champion Russell. In earlier years, Ronnie moved with his family to Tippah County and received his education in the Walnut School System. He was employed in construction and worked as a forklift operator for various companies in the area that included Hill Brothers Construction Company and Hankins, Inc.
A free-spirited, independent person, Ronnie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and lived it to the fullest. He loved listening to country music and was a talented musician. His pleasures included playing the guitar and harmonica , writing his own music and creating poetry. Ronnie had many friends from different backgrounds and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Russell of Memphis, a son, Jonathan Russell (Christa) of Pace, FL, a brother, James Russell (Wanda) of Mt. Juliet, TN, three nephews, his companion, Tammy Potter of Dumas and special grandchildren that he adored, Kyrie Mae Russell, Dominic, Taniyah and Ebrie Bledsoe, Lilly and Shelby Parker.
