Funeral services will be held 3:00 Saturday, Sept. 30 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Reeves, Dr. Ron Chaney, and Rev. Gerald Ward presiding. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Jack was born September 18, 1939 in Randolph County to Walter Thomas Snider and Mary Trotter Snider. He was a cloth cutter in the furniture industry and a veteran of the United States Navy. Jack was a Deacon and served on the cemetery committee at Gravel Hill Baptist Church where he has been a faithful member for 54 years. Watching ball games and wood working were some of the things Jack enjoyed. He was preceded in death by brothers, Dalton and John Snider and sisters, Dorothy White, Gladys Routh, Ruth Bradshaw, Colleen Apple, and Rachel Adams.
Surviving is wife, Joyce Williams Snider of the home; daughters, Renee Nelson of Myrtle Beach, SC, LeAnn Richburg and husband Gary of Kemp, TX, and Brenda Allred and husband Wayne of Randleman; brothers, Eugene and Dewey Snider of Denton, and Clyatt Snider of Lexington; sister, Nancy Snider of Waynesboro, VA; 5 grandchildren, Landace Gillitzer and husband Jesse, Adam Richburg and wife Lauren, Chelsie Hulin, Jackson and Josie Allred; 5 great-grandchildren, Logan Mullins, Brandon Weaver, Emma Gillitzer, Moddee Hulin, and Katelyn Gillitzer.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
