Mr. Bellinger was an only child to his parents. He moved to Clinton about 10 years ago and was severely injured about 1 year ago on the second floor of a new livery stable in Clinton where an elevator had been installed. The ropes were kinked and the screw holding the platform gave way as the weight of Mr. Bellinger and others stepped onto it. He fell about 12 feet. The fall caused internal injuries and for many months he was in pain until he succumbed on June 10, 1887.
