Earl graduated from George Washington Carver High School. Earl was united in holy matrimony to Andrea Teague on June 29, 1971 in Orangeburg, SC. To this union, they have two sons, David and Angelo Glover, both of Philadelphia, PA. After graduation from high school, Earl enlisted in the United States Army. He traveled from South Carolina to Germany and later onto Vietnam. While in Vietnam he trained the Vietnamese life skills that allowed them to function better in their country. His next work assignment was in South Korea, and this assignment was to work on the Demilitarized Zone, in research, I learned that “a demilitarized zone, DMZ or DZ, is an area in which treaties or agreements between nations, military powers or contending groups forbid military installations, activities or personal.” In other words, he along with his teammates held down the wall. Earl has done more work then we can adequately capture. But from what we do know, he was licensed tracker trailer operator and he was well known to be an excellent mechanic, and if you need help all you had to do was ask.
Earl leaves to mourn, his wife, Andrea Glover of Philadelphia, PA; their two sons: David and Angelo Glover of Philadelphia, PA; his siblings: Eugene Colter (Irene) of Cope, SC; Betty Glover of Orangeburg, SC, Henry Glover (Jewel) of DeKalb County, GA; Sarah Gorey of Philadelphia, PA and Frank Glover of Orangeburg, SC; nine grandchildren - eight boys and one girl; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM on Friday, September 24, 2017 at Simmons Funeral Home Chapel of Orangeburg, 907 Russell Street, NW, Orangeburg, SC, with Reverend Roberta Davis officiating. Friends may call at Simmons Funeral Home of Orangeburg.
