Jason Manuel Rodriguez

Dover, DE

Jason Manuel Rodriguez, resident of Dover, DE stationed at Naval Air Station Patuxent River Maryland, went home to his Lord on 21 September 2017.

Jason was born 5 May 1989 at Dover Air Force Base, DE to Manuel Rodriguez and Lois Helsdon. Jason graduated in 2008 from Milford High School. He was passionate about wrestling, starting at the age of 6 competing through his senior high school years and wrestling at the State Finals.

In 2009 Jason joined the Navy after being inspired by the movie "The Guardian". He became a Search and Rescue Helicopter Swimmer with a desire to save lives. As part of his Navy career, he had two deployments to the Middle East saving many lives. Even in death he continued to save lives. Just three hours after he passed, his donated organs continued to live in two separate organ recipients.

Anyone who knew Jason knows how much he enjoyed spending time in the gym working out and lifting, which he did everyday. While at the gym he met his partner, Emily, who loved the gym like he did. He had a zest for life and gave 110% in everything he did. Jason had a charismatic personality and witty retort that he shared with everyone he met. Jason enjoyed time spent with his son Benjamin, playing ball or playing in the rain. His memory will live on for his family through his son. His family is proud of Jason and considers him a hero.
