SHEFFIELD, James Littleton Sr., 92, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born June 21, 1925, he was the son of the late Otis and Gracie Harrup Sheffield. James was a lifetime member and deacon of Waverly Congregational Christian Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Prince George Electric after 43 years of employment.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Cleveland and Richard Sheffield.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, James Littleton Sheffield Jr. (Robin), and Gary Wayne Sheffield; grandchildren, Amy Stanley (Jeff), Shasta Truett (Isaac) and Joshua Sheffield (Megan); great-grandchildren, Greydon Stanley, Wesley Truett and Benjamin Truett; brother, Arthur Sheffield; sisters, Audrey Morris and Marie Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, at R.W. Baker & Company Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel, with Rev. Charles Willman II officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Waverly Cemetery.
