Mrs. Carolyn Reid Cash, age 77, of Waverly, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017. She was born on February 10, 1940 to parents, Mary Elizabeth and Wilmer Joseph Grimes in York, Alabama where she was raised. Mrs. Cash is survived by her husband of 58 years, W. J. Cash; sons: Ray Cash, Bobby Cash (Wendy), and Russell Cash (Kristen); grandchildren: Bryan Cash, Dillon Cash, Wade Cash, Alex Cash, Kayla Cash, Kyle Cash and Leila Grace Cash; sister, Ruth Tew; brothers: Joe Grimes, Roger Grimes, Charles Grimes; and a host of nieces and nephews. Carolyn and W. J. Cash were owners/operators of W. J. Cash Construction Company here in Lee County for over 40 years. Mrs. Cash graduated from Alverson-Draughon Business College in Birmingham, AL. She was a member of Farmville Baptist Church where she played piano and also played for Liberty Baptist Church. Carolyn loved to take care of the people in the community by taking food to them and contributing to local charities on a regular basis. She also loved to garden, tend to her house, and take care of W. J. Cash.
