HOULTON - Floyd "Jay" L. Reed Jr., 60, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017, at home with his family by his side. He was born September 17, 1957, in Houlton, the son of Floyd and Sally (Henderson) Reed.
Jay had been employed as a gas attendant from his junior year in high school until 2010, and then as a carpenter with Merlin Morse
He is survived by his father, Floyd L. Reed Sr.; two sisters, Ann Merritt and her friend, Kenneth Reeves, and Marsha Reed; two nephews, Ryan Merritt and his wife, Melissa, and Travis Merritt; one great-niece, Emma; and five great-nephews, Noah, Brodie, Reed, Gabreil and Ethan. Jay was predeceased by his mother, Sally Reed, in 2016.
A graveside service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor David Tuttle officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to a time of refreshment at the Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowsled Club, Wiley Rd., Littleton. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a gift in Jay's memory may make gifts payable to Bridge To Hope, Ramplers Club, or the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum, all in c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, ME 04730.
