"Mary (England) Haines is the daughter of John England and Elizabeth Holland, granddaughter of Joseph England and Margaret Orbell. Mary's family were prominent members of their community, and their lives are well documented. Mary's grandfather's home (which he bought from his brother's estate) is now an historic home on the historic register in Delaware.

She married Isaac Haines, the son of Joseph Haines and Elizabeth Thomas. They were married at the London Grove Meeting House, under the care of the New Garden Monthly Meeting, Pennsylvania. After their marriage, Mary was a member of the Nottingham Monthly Meeting, PA.

Mary and Isaac lived and farmed in West Nottingham Township. Their land was part of a territory dispute between William Penn and Lord Baltimore. The dispute began in 1701 and was not resolved until the completion of the Mason-Dixon Line in 1784. When Mary and Isaac began their life together, their land was in Chester County, Pennsylvania. After 1784, it was in Cecil County, Maryland.

Mary and Isaac had five known children who were: (i) Reuben Haines (1764-1766); (ii) John Haines (1766-1766); (iii) Joseph Haines (1768-1815), m. Rebecca Reynolds; (iv) Nathan Haines (1770-1820), m. Hannah Brown; and (v) Elizabeth Haines (1777-?), m. Jonathan Reynolds.

Mary's Will was written on May 1, 1806. Her Will was probated on April 29, 1807.
