Sarah Geneva Nichols went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at her home at the age of 85.

She was born October 12, 1931 in Omaha, Arkansas, a daughter of Lavenia and Diana (Scaggs) Flippo. She was the oldest of 11 children and shared in much of the responsibility for raising her siblings until she met and married Sammie Jr. Nichols on July 17, 1948 at the age of 16.

Geneva was a devoted wife and mother of 4, grandmother, sister and aunt to her family. She was a Sunday School teacher of teens and adults through most of her adult life as well as being dedicated to the ministry of the word across the Ozarks with her husband, Jr., singing and preaching. Through the years, she was a faithful worker and member of Liberty Assembly, Zinc, and Miracle Lighthouse churches and was a founding member of Capps Full Gospel Church where she faithfully attended while her health permitted. She and her husband owned and operated Sammies Rock Shop for over 36 years and she rain it by herself for 2 years after his passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sammie Jr., 2 sisters, Etta White and Shirley Terherst, 1 brother, Leonard Flippo, 3 infant siblings and her daughter-in-law, Mary Nichols.

Geneva is survived by her sons, David Nichols and wife, Miriam of Oklahoma City, OK, Gary D. Nichols and wife Susan of Harrison, AR, Roger Nichols and wife Roberta of Waverly, MO and Darrell Nichols of Kansas City, MO; 3 sisters, Estalea Wigginton, Connie Rice and husband Jerrell and Vera Keys; a brother, Claudie Flippo and wife Opal Gerene; her grandsons, Lance Nichols and wife, Tiffany, Tony Nichols and wife Lora, Troy Nichols and wife Angie, Michael Connelly and wife Colleen; her granddaughters, Misty Curry, Rebecca Widner and husband Trent; 5 great granddaughters, 4 great grandsons and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Pastor Arvin Adams, Rev. Eddie Reed and Rev. Lance Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Gass Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Lance Nichols, Tony Nichols, Kevin Nichols, Trent Widner, Phillip Flippo and Wayne Terherst. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Nichols, Kerry Nichols, Michael Connelly, Dwayne Flippo and Billy Edgar.
