Mae Dell Stephens, 81, of 538 North Marble St., Rockmart, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2005. She was born Aug. 13, 1923 in Polk County and was a member of the Southern Bell Pioneers and the Volunteer Group Action Center of Calhoun, Ga., She attended the Church of God. She was retired from Southern Bell after 38 years of service. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. Coleman, Sr. and Liddell Evans Forrister; her husband, Earnest Stephens; a daughter, June Pierce and other relatives. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Donald Spearman and Joan and Frank Griffin; brother, Rev. Wesley Forrister; sisters, Lynn Ingram and Texanna Broadway; several grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. A host of other relatives also survive. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 24, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with the Rev. Delton Harne officiating with interment following in the Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nathan Forrister, Jr., Stephen Hansard, Cole Hansard, Justin Moore, James Moore and Mike Worsham. Honorary pallbearers were Seth Hansard, Joseph Moore, Zachary Worsham an Alex Worsham. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
