Erma "Nini" Dean Scott, 89, lifelong resident of Salinas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home. Born August 15, 1928 in Rudy, AR, to Alton and Mary Lou Benefield.
Nini lived her life in the Salinas valley where she had worked for 34 years as a supervisor for Sun Harvest. She retired after working 10 years in the cafeteria of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. After retirement, she volunteered for the Monterey County Food Bank for 15 years.
Nini is survived by her son, Ray Jones; four daughters, Sharon Kelley, Shirley Evans, Rosemary Frazier and Roxanne Tacadina;10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Scott "Papa"
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas, CA 93905.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at the Healey Mortuary Chapel.
Burial to follow services at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St., Salinas, CA 93901.
