Funeral services will be 26 January 1975 at St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church in Lamont. Rev. J. W. Fairman will officiate. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens in Greenville.
Evans and Edwards Funeral Home of Greenville has charge.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Estella Briggs of Lamont; nine daughters, Mrs. Annie M. Rollins, Lenora Briggs, Attelia Briggs, Mrs. Geneva Young and Mrs. Matilda Young, all of Greenville; Mrs. Georgia Mack, Mrs. Estella Griffin and Mrs. Odella Hooker, all of St. Louis, Mo.; and Mrs. Yovonne Green of Memphis, Tenn.; four sons, Henry Briggs of Greenville, Benjamin Briggs and Sam Briggs Jr., both of St. Louis, and Cleophas Briggs of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Roosevelt Briggs of Los Angeles, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
