Leon "Red" Wilson was born on October 5th, 1941, in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Richard and Katherene (Owens) Wilson. He joined a family of fifteen siblings, five brothers, Michael, Kim, Cornal, Tommy and Richard and ten sisters, Edwina, Evelyn, Mildred, Debra, Wendall, Patricia, Carma, Bonita, Rachel, and Brenda. He attended then graduated fron Tahlequah High School. Leon or Red to his family and friends, was the kind of son, husband, father, grandfather and friend that everyone wanted to have. He was usually found with that big smile on his face, and he had a smile for everyone. He had the laugh that made everyone in the room laugh with him. Red loved sports of all kinds, but was especially fond of basketball and football, and when he wasn't playing, preferred to watch the Sooners or the Dallas Cowboys work the field. He loved to spend a Saturday night dancing the night away. He was an orderly at the Tahlequah City Hospital for years, and always made sure the patients entrusted to his care were cared for well. He was married to his sweetheart and his best friend, Leona Martin, on June 2nd, 1994, in Fayetteville, AR. Red was the proud papa of two daughters, Christie and Rosetta, he adored his girls, and supported them in all their activities. A Christian by faith, Leon was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, and was saved and baptized by Reverend Montgomery. His health began to fail him, and this kind and loving man was called to his Eternal Home on Monday, September 25th, 2017, in Tahlequah, OK, with his loving family by his side. He was 75 years old. He leaves a void that we can never fill.

Red is preceded in death by his mother, his adored daughter, Christie Wilson, three brothers, Cornal, Tommy and Richard Wilson, and three sisters, Edwina Wilson, Rachel Allen, and Brenda Satterfield.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 25 years, Leona Martin-Wilson of the home, and his daughter, Rosetta Jones and husband Charles of Wagoner, OK.
