Clyde Virginia Douglass Harper of Greenville, South Carolina died on September 25, 2017.

The only child of Reverend John Jordan Douglass and Martha Taylor Douglass, Virginia was born in Furches, North Carolina. She was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 70 years, John Manning Harper, Junior, as well as, her oldest son, John Manning Harper, III.

She is survived by her 3 children, Judith Harper Scheibel-Addis (Dwayne), Clyde Douglass Harper (Ren), and Mary Virginia "Ginger" Harper Shealy (Paul) and grandchildren, John Harper IV, Martha Laura Miller, Timothy Scheibel Jr, Jason Scheibel, Matthew Scheibel, Ashley Stipes, Taylor Doppelheuer, and Jordan Stevenson as well as 12 great-grandchildren.

Virginia graduated from Ashley Hall in Charleston, South Carolina and attended The College of Charleston where she was a member of Chi Omega. She met the love of her life at Isle of Palms when John was in the Navy and stationed at Charleston. When they married, they moved to Greenville where John was a lifelong resident.

Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
