Frank was born on July 2, 1923, to Joseph and Theresa (Rihm) Rastetter. On May 5, 1962, he married the love of his life, Janet (Bradford) Rastetter.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Benjamin Franklin. Frank retired from Indiana Gas Co. in 1988 after 39 years of service.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Alexandria and the Knights of Columbus, Anderson, where he was a 4th Degree Knight.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Janet (Bradford) Rastetter of Alexandria; son, Joseph "Joe" Rastetter of Alexandria; two daughters, Anne (Guy) Wable of Lapel and Mary Lyell of Alexandria; four grandsons, Joey and Tom Rastetter, and Levi and Nick Wable; two great-grandchildren, Lee and Emma; and several nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Theresa Gall; son-in-law, Paul Lyell; and three brothers, Herman, William, and Joseph Rastetter.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alexandria, with Father Dan Duff officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elwood with the U.S. Navy conducting military graveside services.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, and one hour prior to the funeral Mass on Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's School of Alexandria.
