Billie Jean Rogers, 81, of Madison Heights, died on Saturday, September 23, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Robert E. Rogers. Born on Tuesday, August 4, 1936, in Martinsville, Virginia, Billie was a daughter of the late Willie Jessie Earles and the late Matte Cox Earles Setliff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Garrett and Christine Patterson. Billie is survived by her daughter, Katherine Rogers Maddox; son, Troy Rogers (Lisa); five grandchildren, Amy Maddox (Charles Payne), Dennis "Adam" Maddox, Bobby Lee Maddox, Erica Rogers (Harry), and Jackson Rogers (Verity); a brother, Tommy Earles (Connie); three sisters, Gloria Holmes, Judy Wright, and Virginia Houston; two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Billie retired from Kmart after working there for 18 years. A member of Love and Truth Community Church. A person of strong faith, she was a good hearted woman who loved the Lord and her family. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Madison Heights. A celebration of Billie's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory Lynchburg with the Pastor Dwayne Martin officiating.
