Milford LeRoy Evensen, 82, passed away March 11, 1990 at his daughters' home of cancer.
Born November 11, 1907 in Salt Lake City to Olaf and Katie Evensen. He married Eva Boynton June 30, 1928 in Bountiful, solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple April 7, 1938.
He was a member of the LDS Church, where he served as High Priest Group Leader, Temple worker and other Church positions. Was a very loved home teacher by all his families he visited. The beautiful mountains surrounding this valley were his love. He loved camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends. He has lived in Centerville for 60 years. Was a candy maker for Sweets Candy in Salt Lake City for 16 years and was a retired Civil Service worker. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife (Eva) whom he loved very much.
Survived by one daughter, Charlene Jean Caldwell and husband Blaine; four sons, Elder Norman L. and Birdean Evensen serving a Canadian Winnepeg Mission, West Point, Utah; DeMar D. and Dalane Evensen, Gary E. and Carla Evensen, Paul S. and Bonnie Evensen, all of Bountiful, Utah; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; half-brother, Bert Evensen, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Wednesday, March 14, in the Centerville 19th Ward, 900 South 400 East, Centerville. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Wednesday, at the Church, from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
