Jo was born August 9, 1952 in Princeton, IL, the daughter of Bernard M and Lois M Warkins. She graduated from Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling, IL and served in the U.S. Air Force achieving the rank of Sgt (E-4) in Top Secret Cryptography. Jo married the love of her life, Jim McCoy, on August 12, 1972. Together they shared a whirlwind life, working and living on five continents through 1993 when they settled in Pensacola, FL. Together they raised three children and 11 grandchildren. Jo was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church.
Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Lois M Ousec Warkins and Bernard Michael Warkins and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Lee Cater.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Lee McCoy, Sr; Son, James "Vasy" (Erin) McCoy, Jr.; daughters, Jenty Shay (Richard) Pennington and Jani Alicia (Bob) McCoy; grandchildren, Alexandria McCoy, Daniel Pennington, Chandon Carr, Sarah Pennington, Vanessa Pennington, Acadia McCoy, Jacob Pennington, Daelin Johnson, Taegin Johnson, Adam Pennington and Mason Pennington as well as numerous friends and family throughout the world that she carried in her heart everyday.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Chandon Carr, Daniel Pennington, Paul Warkins, Ryan Warkins,
Ben Warkins, Christopher Warkins, Seth Warkins and Jeff Cater.
Arrangements for a memorial service are pending and will be announced at a later date.
