Tammy Potter
Tammy J. Potter, 50, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 22, 2017. She resided in Shaftsbury, VT with her husband of 31 years, Anthony “Tony” Potter. Tammy was born in Bennington, VT on March 15, 1967, the daughter of Gloria and Edward Myers, Sr. She received her GED from Mount Anthony Union High School in 1985 and later obtained a certificate for completing The Barton School’s online Medical/Dental Office Assistant course in 1991.

Tammy devoted her life to children and childcare; beginning at the age of 16 babysitting, to opening her registered home-based business in 1997. Known as “TP’s Play School”’ she cared for countless children over the years. She enjoyed walking, shopping with her mother, being outdoors with her grandchildren, hunting, fishing, crocheting, four wheeling, and spending time at the camp she and her husband built in Pownal, VT. Tammy overcame a brain aneurism in 2011 which embarked her new outlook; to live life to the fullest, promising to enjoy every second of each day, taking nothing for granted.

She leaves behind her best friend and love of her life, her husband Tony Potter, her daughters Tori Stevens and her husband Jesse of Shaftsbury, Tessla Pudvar and her husband Tom of Pownal, Tiffany Potter and her fiancé Zach Sausville of Pownal, Tiah Potter of Shaftsbury, step-son Tyson Gosley and his wife Shana of North Branch, NY, and eleven grandchildren.

Tammy is also survived by her parents Gloria and Edward Myers Sr. of North Bennington, her brothers William (Bonnie) Myers of Bennington, Edward (Cindi) Myers Jr. of North Bennington, and Andy (Melissa) Myers of Pownal, as well as her father-in-law Lyman Potter, many brother and sisters-in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday September 28 at 1:00 p.m.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.

The burial will follow in the family lot at Grandview Cemetery in North Bennington.

A reception will follow the service at the American Legion Post 69 in Pownal, VT
