Gueydan: The family and friends of Wanda Marie Bouley are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on September 21, 2017 at the age of 82. Wanda was born on January 14, 1935 to Willie Stephen Trahan and Fannie Broussard Trahan. Wanda was the Supervisor of House Keeping for eighteen years at the Gueydan Memorial Nursing Home until her retirement. She love spending time with her children and grandchildren. She liked to color and do word search. Wanda was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Robynn Peterson of Salt Lake City, UT; her step-daughter, Sheryl Sonnier of Gueydan, LA; her two brothers, Roger (Kathie) Trahan of Hayes, LA, Kenneth “Boo Boo” (Sammie) Trahan of Estherwood, LA; her three sisters, Virginia Conner of Lake Charles, LA, Lou Ella Stripling of Pearland, TX, Judy (Oree) Labbe of Kaplan, LA; three grandchildren, Adrien Sonnier, Wanda Jean Theriot, Randi Sonnier; her four great-grandchildren, Nigel Sonnier, Byron Sonnier, Camry Theriot, and Darrion Sonnier; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Stephen Trahan and Fannie Broussard Trahan; her beloved husband, Aurty Bouley; her brothers, Nelson Trahan, Jimmy Lee Trahan, and Richard Trahan; her sister, Merle LeBlanc; her nephew, Scotter Trahan..
Funeral services to honor Wanda’s life will be held at the Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 3:30 PM with Pastor John Krause officiating. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Friday, September 22nd from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM. The family request that visitation resume on Saturday, September 23rd at 10:00 AM until the time of her funeral service. Carrying Wanda to her final resting place in Hayes Cemetery will be Randy Sonnier, Nigel Sonnier, Byron Sonnier, Kenneth Trahan, and Donavon Roger Trahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Camry Theriot, and Darrion Sonnier.
