Earl B. "Bud" Drasher, 86, of Weatherly, entered into eternal rest Friday, Sept. 22, at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center.
Born in Springbrook, PA on Oct. 22, 1930, he was the son of the late Alfred and Anna Dras-her.
He grad-uated from Moosic High School and then attended East Stroudsburg University for two years before enrolling into the U.S. Navy and fighting in the Korean War. Bud was stationed on the USS Wasp and the Coral Sea.
Upon honorable discharge Bud moved to Hometown where he spent 35 years working for Sun Oil.
After retiring he loved to boat, fish, and hunt. Bud loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He also enjoyed watching the Phillies and the Steelers. Bud was an active officer in the American Legion Unit 360, Weatherly, and a 32nd degree Mason in Canton, PA.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Theresa Bryk; and brother Billy Drasher.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joan Drasher; stepdaughter, Joanie Slowik, and her husband David, Drums; son, Earl Drasher Jr., and wife Debbie, Camden, N.Y.; daughters, Mary Louise (Drasher) Curvey, and her husband Fred, Hometown; Gale (Drasher) Frederickson, and her husband David, Andreas; Terry (Drasher) Heckman, and her husband Bob, Hometown; stepdaughter, Patty Welsh, Florida; grandchildren, Holly and Ariel Slowik, Drums; Jason and Jamie Curvey, Hometown; Jimmy and David Frederickson, Andreas; Jessica Drasher, Richmond, VA; Carolyn (Drasher) Regimand, Austin, TX; Jimmy and Jarred Epright, Philadelpia; Casey (Arena) Mills, Germany; as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
Service: Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. in the Lamar Christ Funeral Home, Hometown, with Rev. David Shoobridge officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to service time. Interment will follow in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.
