William Foster McConnell
COWPENS, SC: William Foster McConnell, 77, husband of Lena Tucker McConnell, went home to be with the Lord, September 25, 2017. Born in Clifton, he was the son of the late Nicholas A. and Elizabeth Lowe McConnell.
Mr. McConnell was a member of Glendale Baptist Church, retired from Clarkson Brothers and played baseball with the textile league. He had a great love for all his family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Linda Hughes and husband Jimmy, of Cowpens, Gerrie Arthur and husband Ralph of Spartanburg, and Teresa Blackwell and husband Daniel of Spartanburg; one brother, Edward McConnell and wife Ann of Cowpens; two sisters, Lona Mauney and husband Bynum of Spartanburg, and Shirley Johnson of Boiling Springs; seven granddaughters, two grandsons, and seven great-grandsons; many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Glendale Baptist Church, Wednesday, September 27, followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Blackwell, Hospice Chaplain Rev. Justin Nelson, and Rev. Bynum Mauney officiating. Interment will be in the Thompson Chapel Cemetery.
