Homerville, GA – Mr. Larry Donald (L.D.) DeLaigle, 75, entered into rest on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at his residence. A native of Burke County, L.D. was born on October 17, 1941, to the late Nicholas and Jennie Quick DeLaigle. He served in the United States Marines. L.D. was an avid outdoorsman, when he was younger, and owned his own farm for many years. He moved from Burke County in 1995 to live in Homerville, Georgia. He was a member of Shiloh Congregational Methodist Church in Homerville, and also attended Pleasant Way Baptist Church in Lowndes County.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond N. DeLaigle, Herman DeLaigle, Ray DeLaigle, and Roy DeLaigle; and four sisters, Inez Peters, Elizabeth Cloniger, Virginia Sharpe, and Shelby Story.

He is survived by two daughters, Leeza Nicole DeLaigle, and Leslie DeLaigle Northcutt (Mark) both of Waynesboro; a son, Justin D. DeLaigle of Waynesboro; two granddaughters, Lauren Northcutt and Aubrey Northcutt both of Waynesboro; a longtime companion, Wanda Royal; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00pm -4:00pm Sunday, September 24 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 4:00pm Sunday, September 24 in the funeral home chapel with Harry Coursey officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Dean DeLaigle, Vinson DeLaigle, Bobby DeLaigle, Charlie DeLaigle, Randy Smith, and Gene Redd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mack Hickman, Melvin Mobley, Allen DeLaigle, Sr., L.V. Jenkins, and Roy Jenkins.
