Robert Giller Curtiss, 84, resident of Fairbury, IL from 1964 to 2014 died peacefully on March 8, 2016 in Lombard, IL.
Robert was born June 14, 1931, the son of Homer Curtiss and Bernadine Shuman Curtiss. He married Marjorie Mathews on Feb. 2, 1952 in Elmhurst, IL. She survives.
Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Beile of Wheaton, IL and Cynthia Wise of Tallahassee, FL. Also surviving are four children, Catherine (William) Hoffman of Oak Park, IL, Victoria (Kent Organ) Curtiss of Chicago, IL, William (Karen) Curtiss of Acworth, GA, and Elizabeth (Ralph) Wakerly of Burr Ridge, IL. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two brothers, George and Richard Curtiss.
Robert was a 1949 graduate of Stockton, IL High School, and a 1953 honor graduate of the University of Illinois being a member of Farm House fraternity and Alpha Zeta agriculture honor fraternity. Retiring in 2007, he had a career in agricultural related businesses in Freeport, Dixon, Gilman, and Fairbury, IL.
He was a big supporter of his children's school activities and his hobbies included fishing, wine making, and traveling.
