Billie Lee Henderson, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2017.
Born in Uniontown, PA, Billie lived in the Akron area most of his life. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1962 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Billie retired from Preferred Compounding after 24 years. He was a member of Passion Church in Uniontown, Ohio, and enjoyed golfing, cooking, and family. Billie especially loved time with his grandchildren and his dog.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth & Lillian Henderson; Billie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Cecelia; daughters, Michelle (Michael) Burt, Sheri (Arnold) Herring, and Shannon (Jeff) Williams; thirteen grandchildren, and many other cousins and close friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring nursing staff of Summa Barberton Home Hospice, and Summa Akron City Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Stull officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Randolph Cemetery.
