She accepted Christ at a young age and united with Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, Reverend M.L. Price. She was an active member of Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church for over 75 years and recently joined Bethel Praise and Worship Center.
Child Welfare Supervisor and Elementary School Counselor, Houston Independent School District.
Professional affiliations include; National Assn. of Social Workers; National Assn. of Black Social Workers (ABSW) Houston Chapter Charter Member; Texas United Community Services; National Conference of Agency Executives, Past President; United Way Agency Executives/Adopt Black Children Committee and the National Black Child Development Institute.
Volunteering activities included serving as an alternate judge for Ft. Bend County Elections; University of Houston School of Social Work Advisory Committee; Adult Advisory Council for the MHMR Authority of Harris County; Advisory Council E.O Smith Junior High; Parent's Advisory Committee Atherton Elementary School and Advisory Committee for St. Elizabeth Hospital.
