William C. “Bill” Hines, 90, Loretto, died Saturday. He was born in Sankertown, son of Joseph Sr. and Laura (Noel) Hines. Surviving are his wife, Rosetta; five children: Joe, Cindy, Joyce, Jeffrey and Anita; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eight siblings: Joseph Jr. (infant), Edward, Anna Marie, Paul, Doris, James, Elizabeth and Janet. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
