Billy honorably served his country as a member of the Unites States Army during the Korean War. Upon completion of his service, Billy began a 32 year career with Southwestern Bell. Billy thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid gardener. Billy loved camping and the camaraderie it brought. To him the only thing better than fishing was a fish fry surrounded by family and friends. Billy’s warm smile and big heart never met a stranger.
Billy leaves behind his beloved family, wife, Jimmie Ruff of Denison, TX; son, Jeremiah Ruff and wife, Debbie of Denison, TX; daughter, Becky Madison and husband, Mike of Lewisville, TX; grandchildren, Cotton Ruff, Lola Ruff and Christian Madison and one great-granddaughter Klair Ruff; sister, Faye Barnhart of Dallas, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sons, George Anthony Ruff and Billy Dewayne Ruff, parents, brothers, Orville, George, Jack and Willard and sisters, Johnnie, Tommie and Audrey.
Billy was cremated according to his wishes. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Fisher Funeral Home.
