Marie M. Short, 92, of Temple Terrace (formerly of Fort Myers), Florida, passed away on September 20, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Isaac B. Short.
Marie was born in Decatur, Alabama on January 22, 1925 to her parents, the late John and Zada Miller. In 1963 the family moved to Fort Myers where they resided until 2005. Marie was a beautiful person inside and out, and she loved her family. She had great compassion and care for all those she met throughout her life. She was a devoted wife and the best mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother a person could have. She is survived by her beloved family and friends.
A Memorial Service for Marie will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Friends will be received for an hour preceding this ceremony starting at 12 Noon. Burial will immediately follow. A Celebration of Life will also be held for her friends in Temple Terrace at the United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 7, 2017.
