Ms. Russell was born December 27, 1930 in Granger, Texas to Guy Willard Jackson Sr. and Genolia Dobbins. She professed Christ at an early age and was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, teacher, counselor, listener and provider. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, singing, gardening, making preserves and fixing her most famous “pick-me-up punch.” Ms. Russell accepted Christ at an early age and was a loyal and dedicated member of Allen AME Church in Rockdale where she was a board member, class leader, active member of mission and sang with the Hardeman Echoes. There was nothing more she loved than being active within her church and loving God. Ms. Russell was very family oriented, wore a heart of gold, had no problems cooking or feeding any and all that entered her home, and never turned anyone away. Because Ms. Russell was the woman she was and lived to be, she will be cherished forever in the hearts of everyone who knew her and will be truly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her children, Tommie Russell and Debbera Essell; grandchild, Keyanna Russell
; father, Guy Willard Jackson Sr.; mother, Genolia Dobbins; sisters, Artie Faye Smith and Bobbie Nell Haynes; and brothers, Guy Willard Jackson Jr., Willie Smith and Sherman Smith.
