Shirley Hash Myers, 84, of Roanoke, died Sunday, November 9, 1997.

She was a long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Salem and was also a graduate of Salem High School and the University of Virginia Nursing School. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for 15 years and also at the McGuire Veteran's Hospital in Richmond.

She was the widow of William Floyd Myers, Sr., who was killed in action in 1944 during WWII.

She is survived by her children, William Floyd Myers, Jr. and his wife, Pat of Richmond, Carol Tallman of Atlanta, Ga. and David Myers of Durham, N.C.; two brothers, James W. Hash, Sr. and his wife, Mae and Lewis P. Hash and his wife, Hazel, both of Salem; a sister, Myrtle E. Hash of Roanoke; granddaughters, Allison and her husband, Mike Feinmel of Richmond, Susan Myers of Chicago, Ill., Tanya Myers of Boulder, Colorado and Carole Kay Myers of Arlington and an expectant great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 1997, at 1 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel, Salem, with the Rev. Billy White officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
