Born on December 29, 1918, to the late Mack and Edna Poole, she grew up in Laurens County, worked and retired from Whitten Center and was an award winning Avon saleslady for 40 years. Mrs. King was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and the Workman Sunday School class.
She is survived by her children; Judy King (Paula Walters) of Columbia, Lamar King (Corinne) of High Point, NC, Ronnie King (Kay) of Clinton, and Connie Uldrick (John) of Clinton. Grandchildren are Connie Gilliam (David),Chris King (Marianne), John H. Uldrick (Jennifer), Adair King, and Lucia Higgins (Gabe); great-grandchildren Abby, Wesley, Joshua, Noah, Jackson, Julia, Claire, Charlie, Annalise, Austin, Ayden, and Daniel; a great-great grandchild, Avery; many nieces and nephews, and her Bailey Manor family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband L. Lamar King, five siblings: Floyd Poole, Mary Martin, Odetta Power, Clara Sanders, Alice Corley; and one grandchild Karen Elizabeth King.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 25 at 10:00 AM in Bush River Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM at the Bailey Manor Chapel followed by a 2:30 PM Celebration of Life at First Baptist Church Clinton.
