Steven Combs went to be with Jesus on Monday, January 16, 2017 at age 70. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Combs; 2 sons, Chris (Lisa) Combs, and Scotty Combs; five granchildren, Reed (Allye), Caroline, Isabelle, Logan, and Laura Kate; one sister, Rhonda Atkins; two aunts, Robbie Tuckness and Marguerite (Cebert) Mitchell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Steven proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and later served as a police officer where he retired with Warrior Police Department. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed terribly by his grandchildren and family. Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2017 at The New Gardendale Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with the burial to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
