Barry F. Moore was born February 17, 1955, in Latrobe, a son of Harry E. Moore, Sr. and Frances P. (Smoker) Moore.

Barry married Shari Lang, and they became the parents of three sons and three daughters.

Barry was retired from Standard Steel Company, was the owner of B & J Builders, and had been an employee of Derry Area School District. Barry was a uniquely talented person.  He had the mind of an engineer when it came to home-construction, the artistry of a master craftsman with wood, and the patience of Job doing anything from building complex structures made from toothpicks to installing surveillance cameras in his home or wiring electronic gadgets in his car.  His passion for music made reconditioning old jukeboxes a labor of love.  He did these things with the slightest effort; it just came naturally to him.

He was a devoted husband, a caring Dad, and a very proud "Pappy."  He came from a typical steelworker blue-collar family of the fifties that showed in his work-ethic and devotion to his family.  Through all his rigors dealing with his illness, he never complained or was one for self-pity.  Like everything else he did in life, he did it well, and he did it his way.

At the age of 62, Barry F. Moore, Sr., of Blairsville, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Barry was survived by his wife, Shari M. (Lang) Moore, of Blairsville; three sons, Barry F. Moore, Jr. and his wife Erica, of Delmont, Matthew R. Moore, of Latrobe, and Brandon E. Moore and his fiancé Jaden, of Derry; three daughters, Angela J. Burd and her husband Aaron, of Latrobe, Cynthia A. Best and her husband Jesse, of Derry, and Jenniffer M. Moore and her boyfriend Ryan, of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Harry E. Moore, Jr. and his wife Marjorie, of Lompac, CA, and Larry D. Moore and his wife Jodi, of Boalsburg; two sisters, Janice F. Crowell and her husband William, of Greensburg, and Dianne C. Carota and her husband Nicholas, of Latrobe; two grandchildren, Gabi and Rylee; and he is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
