Mr. Wilson, born in Mecklenburg County, was the only child of the late Luther Martin Wilson, Sr. and Lillian Moore Wilson. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy E. Holmes; grandson, Terrance Chavis; and a son-in-law, Stephen Hagan.
He was educated in Mecklenburg County Public Schools and was baptized at an early age and became a member of Amity Baptist Church. He also was known to fellowship at Flat Rock Baptist Church where his wife is a member.
He retired from W.R. Grace & Company after many years of being a truck driver. After his retirement from W.R. Grace, he became an employee of Mecklenburg County Public Schools as a driver.
His favorite hobbies were fishing, painting, baseball, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
