Greg held a degree in civil engineering from UNC Charlotte. Bridge design was truly his art and passion and he was very proud to be employed as a Chief Project Manager at the firm of COWI Bridge Design, based in Vancouver, British Colombia Canada. He served for Engineers Without Borders and visited many middle schools sharing his passion and teaching them the elements of bridge design and building through a hands-on experience.
In his spare time he enjoyed travel and outdoor pursuits with his family spending many days hiking mountain tops, paddle boarding, experiencing and appreciating the best that life could offer. An athlete with a presence that could not be missed, Greg enjoyed running and competing in sprint triathlons. He was also an avid rugby player and held the friendships he gained on the field very dear.
Greg was truly loved by the community of Black Mountain and served as a Deacon at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church. He was an advocate of the Black Mountain Greenways development program and volunteered his time as a planner.
