William "Billy" Buchanan, age 82 of Sanford, died at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. He was born in Harnett Co., son of the late William Britton Buchanan and Shirley McNeill Buchanan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother James Britton Buchanan. He attended Boone Trail High School and was a member of the Juniper Springs Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. Surviving is his wife Annie Beryl Kelly Buchanan of the home. Sons Craig Buchanan and wife Cindy, Darrell Buchanan, Randall Gattis and wife Susan all of Sanford, NC. Sisters Nell Buchanan Neal and husband Lincoln of Lillington, NC and Linda Buchanan Revill of Broadway, NC. Brothers Ross Buchanan of Broadway, NC and John Buchanan of Greenville, NC. Six Grandchildren Daniel Buchanan, Brooke Buchanan, Laura Beth Patterson, Anna Melvin, Maggie Gray, Christopher Lasater and ten great grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway, NC. Services were held at Juniper Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
