Michael Ennis Dees, 76, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017.

Funeral service will be held 11 am on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Fritch Church of Christ with Mr. Richard Kasko officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to The ALS Association, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022 or to Cure SMA, 925 Busse Rd, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.

Michael was born November 7, 1940 in Electra, Texas to Beecher Wilson Dees and Willie Doreen Gambill Dees. He married Peggy Whaley on August 22, 1959, the first wedding in the new Fritch Church of Christ. When he and Peggy were first married he worked for the Sante Fe Railroad and traveled five states. He worked as a journeyman/lineman for SPS. Michael then owned and operated Whaley's Marine. He retired from Huber in 1996 and then began working for SGS out of Lubbock for 20 years, where he was employed until December. He enjoyed singing, reading and golfing. Nothing brought more joy to his life than spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Val Dees and Bill Dees.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy of New Caney; children, Dana Mills and husband, Curtis of Fritch, Damon Dees and wife, Misti of New Caney, Shelly Barbour of Borger; 11 grandchildren, Amy Villasenor and husband, Jesus, Lacey Farmer and husband, Justin, Mallory Karins and husband, Matt, Zackery Dees and wife Ashley, Brianna Dees, Krissi Dees, William Dees, David Dees, Katy Burdick and husband, Chanc, Jake Davis and Jesica Morrison, Justin Davis; 18 great grandchildren, Jayven, Amiyah, Lexi, Bryson, Easton, Rylan, Aiden, Tyke, Mason, Colt, Emma, Libbie, Jaylee, Wally, Addison, Avery, Kinsley and Paisley.
