Anthony Shawn "Sugar Bear" Lawrence, 49, Roanoke, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017.
He was preceded by his fathers, Anthony D. Claytor, Sr. and Larry Greene, Sr., and maternal grandparents, William and Queen Lawrence, paternal grandparents, Lucille Claytor and James A. Turner, and Mary and Harry Greene.
He was raised in southwest Roanoke and graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1986, was employed with Norfolk and Southern Railroad until he left the company due to a disability, graduated from ECPI University in 2017 with an Associate of Science degree in computer and information science with a major in network security and was a Mason reaching its 32nd degree and Past Master of Star East Lodge #11, as well as becoming a Shriner of Sahara Temple #1.
Surviving are his wife, Keonna Lawrence; two step-sons Cason and Brendan; mother, Rosa L. Greene; sister, Angela (Buster) Jordan; brothers, Larry (Allison) Greene, Jr., Benjamin Greene, Anthony D. Claytor, Jr.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, September 22, 2017, at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
