Marion was born in Shelby County, Indiana to Thomas Campbell and Nancy Jones who were from Knoxville, Tennessee. He married Christina Rosabelle Plunkett on Christmas Day in 1884 (Montgomery County, Indiana) and they had Marion, Katie, Carl and Claude (at least, possibly others). Here is his short obituary from the Crawfordsville Review, June 27, 1913 p 1 - Marion B. Campbell, 51, died last night at his home on East Street after an illness of some time. He is survived by his widow, two sons and a daughter. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Pratt and burial will be made at Mt. Tabor cemetery. Decedent was a shoemaker by trade. His Death Certificate confirms his burial on 6-27-1913 at Mt. Tabor by O.D. Nash, Undertaker.
