PEKIN ~ Sheryl Jo "Sherry" Taylor, 61, of 2841 Allentown Road, passed away at 8:11 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Pekin Hospital.

Born March 27, 1945 in Pekin to Godfrey LeRoy and Velma Marie (Shallenberger) Munter, she married Gerald Thomas Taylor on May 14, 1966 in Pekin. He died September 15, 2003 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister (Darlene Althiser).

Surviving are one daughter, Anita F. (Les) Wood of Pekin; one grandson, Bryson T. Wood of Pekin; one step-granddaughter, Holly J. Wood of Pekin; six brothers, Jim (Lottie) Munter of Manito, Bob (Joyce) Munter of Salem, Missouri, Rich Munter, Gale (Dora) Munter, and Don (Jamie) Munter, all of Pekin, and Jack Munter of Canton; two sisters, Peg (Paul) Putney of Niceville, Florida and Sue (Gary) Barton of Havana; and many nieces and nephews.

A homemaker, she was of the Presbyterian faith.

Sherry enjoyed playing with her bunco club for 35 years and playing bingo Tuesday's at the Pekin AMVETS. She also enjoyed making crafts.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Terry C. Edele will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral.
